Abbott, in association with Science Foundation Ireland and Science Week 2021, are excited to bring you ASPIRE with Abbott


ASPIRE is an innovative STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) showcase. It will provide you with the opportunity to connect with some fascinating experts.


The theme of Science Week 2021 is ‘ Creating our Future’. At ASPIRE with Abbott, you will be inspired by stories of how STEM education creates a world of exciting choices for your life and career.


In addition to a stellar line-up of speakers, you can spend time in the virtual exhibition hall. Here you can visit a host of well renowned STEM organisations and download fascinating resources.


ASPIRE with Abbott takes place on   November 11 th at 10am . The live conference will run from 10am to 3pm and include a host of well-known personalities and inspiring STEM advocates including, Dr Niamh Shaw, Easkey Britton, Ray Langan, our very own Abbott employees and many more.


The event will then remain on demand for up to 30 days.

Our second keynote of the day is Ray Langan, creator of RAYSE THE GAME. The No 1 Motivational Study Skills Programme in Irish Secondary Schools. Ray is a High-Performance Study Skills Coach, Gen Z Edutainer and qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist (IACP) specialising in teen anxiety. Ray will be presenting a session focusing on Parents and Teachers and how they can help their child/student.

Niamh will be joining our all female panel to discuss Understanding STEM. Niamh will join Ruth Freeman (SFI), Catherine Cross (NPC) and Jackie Gorman (Midland Science) to help you get a greater understand of what STEM is about, helping to remove the fear around STEM careers.

Aspire with Abbott is an online, virtual event. Attendees can participate anywhere as long as they have Internet access. The event is accessible via desktop, laptop, mobile and or tablet devices.

Yes. Aspire with Abbott is open to members of the public and they can register by visiting www.aspirewithabbott.vfairs.com. We encourage you to share with event with anyone interested in learning more about careers in STEM including students, parents and teachers.
A swag bag is a virtual briefcase that allows you to download and store documents and videos. You will be able to access and download files in your Swag Bag for 3 months after the close of the event.
Yes. Like a “ shopping cart” you can add documents and videos to your “Swag Bag” and email them to yourself, following the event. The keynote speaker addresses will be available to view on demand for a period of between 30 and 90 days.
No. As this event is being run to enable students, parents and teachers to connect with valuable STEM career information, and therefore will have school age students, attendees will only be able to interact with the content at the event, and at no point will be able to interact with other attendees.
Students that wish to attend the event will need parental consent and this can be confirmed during the registration process and we ask that all students register using their parents email address. We encourage students to attend the event virtually with their teachers and or parents. We have taken appropriate measures to ensure that the event will be safe for all attendees.
No problem. Please use the “forgot password” option when logging in.
No. email addresses are only required for registration and log in purposes. Once registered, attendees can visit the exhibition as often as they like during the on demand feature. Once the event closes, all email addresses will be erased.
We really encourage teachers to do this and all they will need is access to the event by registering as a teacher in advance. Once registered and assuming you have the technology required to broadcast, then you can simply navigate the conference and broadcast the speakers that you feel will be of interest to your students. You can do this multiple times if required.
The Aspire with Abbott event goes live on the 11th November 2021 and following the live day, attendees will be able to access the conference for a period of up to 30 days. Please note, the on demand feature will vary for a number of the keynote addresses.
The exhibition hall will remain on demand for a period of 30 days and attendees will be able to add content to their swag bag during this time.
Attendees are asked to register in advance for the event under the register section located at the top banner of the landing page www.AspirewithAbbott.vfairs.com. Once registered attendees will be able to use their registration details to access the live (and on demand event)

Yes. The content will be available on-demand for a period of up to 30 days. Please note that not all keynote addresses will remain on demand, so we encourage you to view these within 30 days of the event going live on the 12th November.
No. At the event, attendees are not required to display their video and this feature will not be available to attendees.
No. like webcam, attendees will not be able to “speak” at the event and the chat function is only available to attendees to ask questions of the keynote speakers during the live day.
Yes. For several keynote addresses, and ISL interpreter will be joining the panel to communicate the presentation. Once these presentations go “on demand”, we aim to add subtitles which will be available on playback.
Attendees will have the ability to ask questions during any of the live events. These questions will be submitted privately to the moderators of the event and will be put to the speakers. As we expect large volumes of attendees, it will not be possible to cover all the questions asked on the day.
